Valgerola Ecomuseum
The Ecomuseum: a territory to be travelled through to discover villages, paths, churches, rural buildings and museum collections enhanced by a community which is faithful to history and tradition, but also attentive to the social and economic development of the valley.
Here, besides the wonderful mountain landscapes, visitors can admire the best-preserved representation of the most famous inhabitant of the Alps: Homo Selvadego. Legend has it that this wild hermit taught the locals the dairy craft that still allows them to produce Bitto, the excellent cheese that takes its name from the stream that flows through the valley.
