Exhibition

The heart of each museum is the collection, which includes the pieces exhibited in the rooms and those kept in the deposits.

The exhibition allows you to select, sort and present objects that tell the story of a territory, the cultural identity of a community and the museum itself in line with its mission; the choice is therefore dictated by a precise scientific project by the curators of the collection.

The cultural assets not exhibited can in any case be shown through visits to the deposits or in rotating exhibitions, which stimulate repeat visits to the museum.

However, the most interesting and engaging collection enhancement activity for visitors is the setting up of temporary exhibitions, the result of a study of the collections. In fact, research projects make it possible to add new narratives and interpretations that enrich the museum, the community of which it is an expression and all visitors.

An example of this is the reinterpretation of ethnographic pieces from the Vallivo Valfurva Museum in the light of the pandemic that hit us in 2020. The "ancient" objects, expression of timeless anthropological themes (care, migration, the sense of the future, between generations ...), were at the centre of a reflection on contemporaneity, organized and shared through the setting up of the exhibition “10 oggetti (d)alla fine del mondo” (10 objects to/from the end of the world).
